Trauma Informed Care
This session is designed to help healthcare providers understand the impact of trauma on HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care. During the session, we will explore the connection between trauma and HIV, the prevalence of trauma among people living with HIV, and the ways in which trauma can affect engagement in HIV care. We will also discuss strategies for creating a trauma-informed environment, including approaches to communication, assessment, and care planning that take into account a patient's trauma history.
PrEP/PEP
During the session, we will discuss the differences between PrEP and PEP, their effectiveness rates, and the recommended protocols for prescribing and monitoring these medications. We will also review the indications for PrEP and PEP, the potential side effects, and the ways in which they can be integrated into a comprehensive HIV prevention and care plan.
HIV Treatment Guidelines
In this session, we will discuss the current standards of care for HIV treatment, including the recommended antiretroviral therapies, monitoring protocols, and potential side effects.
During the session, we will also review the importance of early diagnosis and treatment initiation, as well as the role of adherence and viral suppression in improving health outcomes for people living with HIV. We will also discuss the potential challenges and barriers to HIV treatment, such as medication adherence, drug interactions, and comorbidities.
HIV 101
comprehensive understanding of HIV, including transmission, prevention, testing, and treatment. We will also address the impact of HIV-related trauma on people living with HIV, and the ways in which negative perceptions of HIV can affect HIV prevention, testing, and care.
During the session, we will cover the basics of HIV, including how it is transmitted, how it can be prevented, and the available treatment options. We will also discuss the importance of HIV testing and early diagnosis, and the ways in which healthcare providers can play a critical role in reducing HIV-related trauma.
Sexual Health History
Our taking a sexual health history session is designed to help healthcare providers feel comfortable and confident in discussing sexual health topics with their patients in a positive and non-judgmental way. We believe that taking a comprehensive sexual health history is essential for providing appropriate care and addressing potential health risks.
During the session, we will explore the importance of creating an open space for patients to discuss their sexual health history. We will also discuss strategies for taking a comprehensive sexual health history, including asking open-ended questions and being sensitive to the patient's comfort level and background.
HIV Testing
This session provides healthcare providers with the knowledge and tools they need to implement opt-out HIV testing in their clinics or healthcare facilities. During the session, we will discuss the benefits of opt-out HIV testing, review the CDC guidelines for implementation, and provide practical tips for incorporating this testing method into your practice.
